Why Edge House Is Located in West Wales

I spent my childhood summers on the beaches of West Wales. Those long days by the sea shaped some of my happiest memories. When our family caravan eventually became too small, we were incredibly lucky to buy the café where I once ate ice creams as a child.

With the help of the exceptionally talented Hyde + Hyde Architects, we designed and built what became our dream family home in Aberporth, a truly unique house that our children lovingly call “home by the beach.” From the outset, our vision was to create a space that celebrated the wild coastline, fresh sea air and slower pace of life that make West Wales so special.

After creating so many wonderful family memories here, it felt only right to open Edge House to others, so they too could create their own.

What I Love Most About Cardigan Bay?

From golden sandy beaches and rugged cliff paths to independent cafés, local producers and welcoming villages, there’s always something to discover. Yet, despite its popularity, West Wales never loses that warm, unpretentious and homely feel. It’s a place that invites you to slow down and stay a little longer.
